Through consistent work with a competent teacher the student is guided to develop and deepen his/her practice in a thoughtful and graceful manner. Because the work is one-on-one, the teacher.s entire attention is focused on the student and his/her specific needs. Strengths can be highlighted and weaknesses worked on in the manner most appropriate for the student. Also the dynamics of the student/teacher relationship are taken advantage of in the most beneficial way because, over time, the teacher can come to know the student on a deeper level and therefore can help the student.s practice evolve on many different levels at the same time.
